Chemical Dosing

Whether your aim is to reduce suspended solids, control odour, pH adjustment or precipitate elements from your wastewater, our chemical dosing units (CDUs) will allow you to manage your wastewater. Hydrotec’s state-of-the-art monitoring equipment provides the control system with the information required to determine the exact chemical dosing required. This critical step allows for increased efficacy towards your aim for the wastewater whilst also helping to avoid incorrect dosing, in turn saving your company money.

Coagulation and Flocculation

CDUs play a crucial role in the coagulation process within wastewater treatment, enhancing the removal of suspended solids. The precise addition of coagulants, such as ferric chloride and polymers, into the treatment system encourages the agglomeration of particles. The larger flocs that are created are more easily separated from the wastewater, particularly at subsequent treatment stages.

pH Correction

Whether required to meet discharge or disposal consents, or to adjust acidity or alkalinity for optimal treatment, our CDUs are capable of effective pH adjustment. Wastewater with a low pH is often treated with sodium hydroxide, whereas high pH is neutralised with sulphuric acid. Our real-time monitoring and automated control system ensures precise adjustments are made to manage your water’s pH.

Odour Control;

Wastewater can often be the source of significant nuisance odour, causing an environmental risk both on and off site. Our CDUs are capable of dosing chemicals such as Hydrogen Peroxide, a powerful oxidant which is commonly used to neautralise hydrogen sulphide and other odorous compounds
